World Handicap System (details can be found on Handicapping - England Golf )

As we should all know by now, the World Handicap System (WHS) came into effect in November 2020, replacing the CONGU Handicap System.

This now effects the way we play our competitions.

We should all by now, have a "Handicap Index"(H.I). This is not your Handicap.

The H.I. is used in conjunction with the Course and Slope Rating at any golf course you play, where there should be a rating table, either in the Pro Shop or near the 1st Tee.

Depending on what Tee you play from, (Black, White, Yellow, Red), you will then have a Course Handicap (C.H.).

England Golf, who now control our H.I. have recommended different Stroke Allowances, set against the C.H. for different forms of play.

What does that mean for us?

Singles Stableford (i.e. The Main Day at Childwall) we will get 95% of our Course Handicap.

4BBB Stableford (i.e. Challenge Matches) - Each player we will get 90% of their Course Handicap.
