"The Ladies' Evening and Dinner "

Date: Saturday 24th October 2015

Venue:      Prenton Golf Club

7pm for 7:30pm

Golf Links Road, Prenton, Wirral, Merseyside, England, CH42 8LW

The long awaited 2nd Leg of the Annual Match between

Lancashire and Cheshire has been contested!

The format:

Four Ball Better Ball FULL HANDICAP Points.

Each pairing's points total added to give a total team score.

These were added to those of the 1st Leg

Prizes were presented for the best scores for each team on the day and to the winning "shire".

The sun shone down and the wind blew at

Wirral Ladies' Golf Course on Wednesday 7th October 2015.

(Was it the "wind of change" in favour of Lancashire?)

Only 5 points seperated the teams following the 1st Leg so all was to play for.

The scoring from both teams was of the highest standard and mostly in the 40's but ....

for the first time, the young pretenders from Lancashire proved too strong

for the valiant efforts of the Cheshire Team.

Could this be a new era of dominance for Lancashire?

There is no doubt that Cheshire will regroup and come

out in full force in 2016 to regain what they believe to be theirs!

Seriously, congratulations to ALL who took part.

Although Lancashire left with the Trophy,

we all left as winners in friendship.

The AMMGCC would like to extend it's continued appreciation

to Wirral Ladies' Golf Club for the use of its facilities,

the greenstaff for the wonderful presentation of the course

and the clubhouse staff and catering for the hospitality shown to us throughout the day.

Roll on 2016!

"The Captain's 4" - Completed

Playedat Irby Golf Club (at Hoylake Municipal)

The early starters bore the brunt of that fine drizzly rain

(you know...the stuff that gets you wet!), at least for the first 5 holes.

The weather soon cleared up and some great golf was played, with three Nett scores

of 70 being recorded.

The Arthur Owen Trophy was won by Peter McIntyre from Bowring Golf Club.

The John Beamish Trophy (Captain's 4) was also won by Bowring Golf Club.

There were other clubs that took part!

Many congratulations to the prize winners. Thanks and appreciation

to all those who took part and to the caterer for the evening's buffet.

We hope the next event will be as well supported.

Main Golf Day.

Venue : Childwall Golf Club

Our Main Golf Day was staged at Childwall Golf Club on Thursday 28th May 2015.

The weather played its part and helped to ensure what was a great day for all concerned.

The golf course did not disappoint and provided a true and fair test for all.

The AMMGCC thank Childwall Golf Club for the fabulous food and hospitality it provided

throughout the day and look forward to next year's event.

Congratulations, not only to the prize winners but all who took part for continuing

to make this day a very special occasion in our calendar.

The long awaited golf season is finally upon us.

The clocks have gone forward, the grass is beginning to grow and the first Major has been

contested and won in convincing style be Jordan Speith.

However, and more importantly, the first leg of the A.M.M.G.C.C. annual

Lancashire v Cheshire Match was played

at Lee Park on Wednesday 15th April.

A great and competitive afternoon was had for those involved.

The format was as follows:

Four Ball Better Ball FULL HANDICAP Points.

Each pairing's points total added to give a total team score.

Prizes were presented for the best scores on the day, but all is not over!

The return leg will be played in October at Wirral Ladies Golf Club.

Only 5 points seperate the teams, so all is to play for.

(Oh.... nearly forgot..... Lancashire are leading!)

(Click the Challenge Match tab above for details).

The AMMGCC would like to extend it's appreciation to Lee Park Golf Club, the greenstaff for the wonderful presentation of the course and the clubhouse staff for the hospitality shown to us throughout the day.

2014 - Completed

Well, gentlemen, that was 2014.

We must give a great deal of thanks to The Captain of Captains Mr John Roddy,

his helpers and the catering staff of Park Golf Club for the hospitality shown to the Association

in their Centenary year.

We appreciate, immensely, all their hard work and friendship throughout.

Congratulations and well done!

It goes without saying that the events take a great deal of organisation

and time which we all sometimes take for granted.

The Association Committee have worked tirelessly to ensure that the year's events have gone

according to plan, for which they also must be congratulated.

It's been many years since I played the course.

The improvements that have been made have added to its prowess

as one of the finest Municipal golf courses in the North West of England,

providing a fair test for golfers of all abilities. The Greenstaff are thanked and commended.

Please email me with any comments or additions you may like to be included in the website.

I hope you all have a peaceful and relaxing Christmas and are looking forward to next year.
